Brooke Cox is considering destroying a reality TV show. Her time as the host of Down Home Dream Home has given her a modicum of fame—and has kept her gainfully employed, which is more than she can say for the rest of her showbiz ambitions—but has also beaten her into the ground with a steady string of ornery guests, needlessly long days, and sweaty men with wandering hands. By the time the super special live season finale rolls around, Brooke is dangerously close to total breakdown.
After an onscreen performance that’s memorable in all the wrong ways, Brooke Cox wonders whether she’ll ever work in entertainment—or anywhere—again. But out of the blue, she is contacted by Timothy Dent, her ex-boyfriend who accidentally became one of the most powerful men in America. Tim’s proposal is simple: meet with him, and all of her troubles will be a memory. Brooke declines out of pride until the offer becomes irresistible, and by the time she learns what he actually wants, it’s too late to turn back.
Tim’s scheme becomes more outlandish by the day, and Brooke has no choice but to go along with it. Quickly, though, she begins to enjoy her new role, and all of the wonderfully confusing things that accompany it. As the weirdness intensifies, Brooke Cox realizes that her work with Tim Dent may indeed be her true calling—and that her reality TV meltdown might end up being the least interesting thing to ever happen to her.
